About OHS
The OHS business originated more than twenty-five years ago as Occupational Health Services, Inc., a provider of MSDS authoring. MDL Information Systems, Inc. purchased OHS in 1994 as an entry into the EH&S data market. Under Elsevier MDL, OHS expanded our EH&S solutions beyond quality, independently researched chemical MSDS authoring services and databases.Today, OHS offers a variety of databases, software and services for three product segments: MSDS Authoring, Reference and Hazard Communication. Unique standards include international languages, European safety data, MSDS distribution and customer EH&S data services.
With over 25 years in EH&S, OHS serves the world's leading companies. A majority of customers are Fortune 1000 companies who manufacture or use chemical substances in production. Some of our customers include BP, Eli Lilly, Wyeth, Applied Biosystems, Aventis Pharma, and Shell.
Elsevier MDL is the recognized leader in discovery informatics for the life sciences and chemistry in industry and academia. Our software, content, and services provide the enterprise-wide discovery informatics framework for comprehensive and successful discovery research. We are an international business headquartered in San Leandro, CA with offices worldwide. MDL Information Systems, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Elsevier.
