ISIS/Base

A flexible desktop database management system for storing, searching, and retrieving chemical structures and associated scientific data.

Forms-based searching with ISIS/Base makes it easy for scientists to search, browse, and update data. A form designer enables scientists to design forms for their specific query, browsing and reporting needs.

ISIS/Base is available as a stand-alone desktop program on a PC, or used as a client to ISIS/Host, the ISIS server component.

ISIS/Base requires installation of ISIS/Draw or Symyx Draw.


Key benefits:

  • Create desktop databases: Save time by storing and searching molecules, reactions, and related project data in a local database.


  • Query with customizable forms: Forms-based searching is as easy as filling in the blanks. Combine chemical structure searches from ISIS/Draw with text and numeric queries.


  • Design reports: Preview forms before printing; save page orientations with forms; and create, save, and print headers and footers.


  • Analyze research results: Export data to Microsoft Excel spreadsheets; use ISIS for Excel to create structure-activity and structure-property relationship tables.


  • Customize applications: Use development tools to create customized dialog boxes, tool bars, buttons, and special forms; control vocabulary and user access to specific functions; and automate procedures such as data registration.


  • Register, search, and view data in server-based databases: Work with servers located anywhere in the world by simply linking ISIS/Base to the ISIS/Host server.
